That seemed to be the theme for our tour in the Netherlands! We stayed in T’Loo campsite for the full 2 1/2 weeks , hired bicycles twice.. just to make use of the incredible cycle roads system! We need that here in Scotland !
We were invited to a melodeon makers workshop in Utrecht…and also an accordion museum not too far from there… And saw the largest working accordion in the world! So though we never know what is around the corner… the Netherlands certainly gave us new and very unexpected experiences! Like don’t go down steps on a bike with pedal brakes ?
We were welcomed everywhere we went, well fed and even spoiled at times ? And our friend Woutera organised us a splendid tour in Denmark for which we are hugely grateful. We had three main gigs each utterly charming in their own way… but probably the one that really stands out has to be the brewery cellar in Nijmegen with 2x 20 min sets of acoustic music… you could have heard a pin drop! ????
And being a lover of new experiences.. I was happy to witness both Gary and Woutera busking for their first time, on the streets of Nijmegen … it wasn’t profitable… but it was fun ? .. then back home to bonnie Scotland we came ?
